Education and Technology

In past experience I have seen that technology can be extremely beneficial to both teachers and students. As a teacher, I will be able to use media to enhance presentations and diversify my lessons. Using PowerPoint presentations, video clips, and instructional television, teachers are able to use media outlets to assist in lectures. This benefits not only the teachers, but the students as well. These media tools add a visual aspect to a lecture, enhancing teaching techniques. In many classrooms I have also seen computer games used as a tool to help teach in the classroom. This is a fun way to engage students and supplement boring written assignments. From my experience in the classroom I have seen these educational computer programs excite and enrich students. Technology also makes communication between students and teachers easier. With email, blogs, and class websites, it makes communicating and informing students easier and more accessible. It also gives parents a way to stay connected with teachers and with the classroom.
